Background: The nest box is located a village in the Jezreel Valley, Israel, in between Nazareth and not far from the Palestinian city Jenin. Barn owls have bred in three times in last four years. This year the pair laid its first egg of six eggs on March 26. There is a long-eared owl pair breeding that can be heard during the night. The pair is part of a project of farmers to control rodents in agriculture. For more information about the project click here.
